May 8, 2010 - Well, it's not a horse related update, but it still seemed like something that should be posted here. On this day, Allison Carpenter (owner of Mythic Friesians) married Robert Thomas! It was a small casual ceremony and great fun was had by all! So if you notice a name change throughout our websites - from Allison Carpenter to Allison Thomas - now you know why!
April 12, 2010 - Random MF is sold! It is a bittersweet day, as we hate to see this boy leave - he is the Mythic Friesians baby who has been with us the longest. But, he's not going too far, so we'll be able to visit him at least!
March 23, 2010 - New pictures on the Around the Farm page. Finally, some pictures from around the farm we moved to in February, 2009!

January 9, 2010 - The new year is here, and a new decade along with it! We're expecting great things in 2010 and a great deal of change around our farm. In honour of that, we will be doing a massive website update and revamp over the next few months. So, don't panic if things don't work quite as expected while we're in the midst of these changes - but please let us know if you come across any links or options that look broken!
December 1, 2009 - Our youngest stallion, Wolfric MF, has gone to his new home in Balgonie, Saskatchewan! Wolfric is joining our mare Shera, both now owned by Jennifer Bromm. Keep an eye out for this boy in the future - he is going to do great things! Congratulations to both Wolfric and Jennifer!

June 28, 2009 - Our Jakob filly is here! She's tall and dainty and perfect, except the her birth caught us entirely by surprise. She arrived nearly 4 weeks early! Pieterke is a wonderful mom and both filly and mom are doing well.
May 22, 2009 - One of Mythic Friesians' babies is coming home for a while. Thomas MF, son of our deceased mare Renske Welmoed, is moving to Saskatchewan! We're excited to have him back to get him prepared for the keuring, and we're even more excited that his owner, Dani, will be moving to Saskatchewan as well in August!
May 14, 2009 - Our new mare has finally arrived! After purchasing Pieterke fan e Kamperdyk in May of last year, she stayed in the Netherlands to be bred to Jakob 302. We decided to leave her there for the winter, and so now, after almost a year of waiting, she is finally home! See her page for more information.
February, 2009 - Mythic Friesians is making one final move, on to our own farm near Swanson, SK. 145 acres for our Friesians to play on! Watch for new contact information updates by the end of February.
January 26, 2009 - Shera is sold! She is going to be staying in Saskatchewan, near Regina with new owner Jennifer Bromm. Congratulations to Shera and Jenn! We're thrilled that she'll be staying so close, so we can visit!

September 25, 2008 - We're back from a whirlwind trip to the keuring in Maple Ridge, BC, and the keuring in Olds, AB! There were many great horses at both shows. We are SO proud to announce the following:
QUANTUM MF became SECOND PREMIUM STAR GELDING and CHAMPION GELDING of the Olds, AB keuring!
A HUGE Congratulations to Carrie and Quantum! This was the first Mythic Friesians baby to be shown as an adult, and he did us proud! August 8, 2008 - The rest of the Friesian herd is here! Seven Friesian horses (5 mares, 2 stallions) now reside just outside of Davidson, Saskatchewan Canada. They are soon to be joined by another Friesian mare, and a Gypsy Cob stallion!
August 4, 2008 - We have arrived at the new farm in Saskatchewan! Began set up in anticipation of the arrival of the rest of the herd.
August 3, 2008 - The big move begins - left for Saskatchewan with ourselves, one horse (Ourenske H), two dogs and three cats. Two days of driving ahead!
July 27, 2008 - Our PMU mare, Suite with a View (better known as Star) is sold, and left for her new home! Congratulations to Star and to Lauren - you two were meant for each other!

May 26, 2008 - New pictures of Undara and Vogue on each of their pages. Added an Around The Farm page, with some of our non-horsie animals and some candid shots around the farm. Also, we have some news - Liskje is sold! With our impending move, our trainer has decided she can't part with Liskje. So she will be staying on the west coast with trainer Lynn Casey. Announcement soon to come about a new mare who will be taking her place in our lineup of gorgeous gals!

May 16, 2008 - Major website update - yes finally! Pages updated: Our Prospects, Our Mares, and For Sale, along with the individual pages for Random MF, Undara MF, Vokeltsje D, and Ceridwen MF. Also added information about our planned 2009 foals.
March 21, 2008 - Lots of firsts for us today! Our first foal of 2008, first embryo transfer foal, first Wander baby, and our first Shera FILLY! Born around 1 am, she is big and perfect. She will be staying with Mythic Friesians as a future broodmare. We have named her Ceridwen MF.
June 18, 2007 - Our fifth and final foal of the year has arrived! This evening around 7pm, Liskje fan e Sjongedyk gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. This is her first foal and so far she has been a shining star of a mother! This colt, sired by Wikke 404, was sold in utero, and his name is Zunka MF.
May 18, 2007 - Fourth baby is here! And since the foal isn't ours, it is of course a filly. Christa W, one of our Mare Care clients, had a beautiful filly sired by Winand 401. The filly's name is Zoe.
May 11, 2007 - Our third foal of the year has arrived! This morning at 4:30 am, Ourenske H foaled out a very tall, very modern baby boy! His sire is Feike 395, one of the very best dressage Friesians around. The colt's name is Wolfric MF.
April 14, 2007 - Finally, the foal we never thought would arrive is HERE! This morning at 1 am, Emke W foaled a gorgeous, feminine filly sired by Ait 410. Her name is Winter MF, and she has her mom's pretty head and typey tipped in ears. Winter is owned by Jesse Berg, who also owns our filly Tahiti MF from 2006.
April 7, 2007 - Our first foal of the year is here! A beautiful colt sired by Rintse 386. This colt is out of a mare we used to own, Grace, who came back to us to foal out. She was a bit early, day 322, but both mom and baby are doing well. Grace is being a wonderful first time mom! We will post pictures of him soon.
April 4, 2007 - Updated our For Sale page. We have 5 new horses for sale: 2 mares and 3 geldings. We have many more pictures of them, so if you're interested, just ask!
February 20, 2007 - You may have noticed some website problems around here the last few days. That's because we have switched website providers and are in the process of porting everything over from the old provider to the new. We think it is mostly under control now but are still getting some of the pictures updated. So, if you notice any problems, please feel free to let us know. And, if you sent us an email in the last few days and didn't get a response, it may be because of this change, so please resend it!
February 13, 2007 - Our foaling camera is now online. Emke W is currently on the camera. She is due March 9th, and she is HUGE! See our camera at http://www.marestare.com/mythic.php
February 1, 2007 - Today we lost a great friend, a great mother, and a great soul. Our star Tsjomme mare, Renske Welmoed, passed away after complications following surgery to correct a severe twist of her large intestine. Also with her passed her unborn Rintse foal. Renske will always be greatly missed.
January 18, 2007 - We are home from the stallion show in the Netherlands, and what a show it was! Onne 376, the father of our own LISKJE, was made champion stallion of the show! We toured a number of farms and met a lot of approved stallions: Olrik 383, Jakob 302, Wikke 404, Doaitsen, Folkert, Monte, Jorn, Jense, Beintse, Jasper, and more. They were all as amazing as we had dreamed, and many of them were even more so! We also met some wonderful people from across North America and the Netherlands. A special thank you to Rick and Ellen Simonetti for making this trip such a wonderful experience!
January 13 & 14, 2007 - Stallion Show in Leeuwarden. Onne 376 was awarded Champion Stallion and Harmen 424 was Reserve Champion. 26 young stallions were selected to go to the 70 day test at Drachten.
December 17, 2006 - We are home from a wonderful Equine Reproduction Workshop at Oregon State University. We covered an amazing amount of material and received lots of hands-on training. We highly recommend this course to anyone interested in breeding, for any breed of horse!
December 15, 2006 - Liskje is home at last! After her long trip from the Netherlands, to New York, then Virginia, then Colorado, she is finally home at Mythic Friesians. She is tall and beautiful, no doubt about that. Her movement is to die for, and she has the temperment to match. New pictures of her are on her page.
December 9, 2006 - It's here! Singer/songwriter Laura Doyle has completed her second album, aptly named Dark Horse. The album graphics prominently feature Laura's Friesian stallion Orion MF, who was born here at Mythic Friesians. November 26, 2006 - We have SNOW! Yes, in our area that is actually quite news worthy. And we couldn't resist getting some new pictures with our wonderful black horses playing in the snow. You'll find new pictures of Renske Welmoed, Emke W, and Ourenske H all playing in the powdery white stuff.
November 18, 2006 - Liskje is now in quarantine in North America! Added some new pictures of her in quarantine to her page.
November 14, 2006 - Major website update. Almost every page has been updated, though most of the changes have happened in our For Sale and Sold Horses areas. October 24, 2006 - Quantum MF is on his way to his new home in Calgary, Alberta. We wish him and his new mom Carrie the best of everything!
October 21, 2006 - There is another new mare coming to Mythic Friesians! With the sale of our young mare Grace, we wanted to bring in another young mare to fill out our herd. Grace's bloodlines are incredible, and we wanted to find a mare that has equally impressive, though possibly different, lines. So with the help of our friends Rick and Ellen at Friesians 4 USA, we went hunting for just the right mare. And, as always, they found just what we wanted.

Liskje is the daugher of newly named MODEL mare, Tsjikke fan 'e Sjongedyk, and is sired by the beautiful Leffert son Onne 376. September 22, 2006 - Grace has been sold! It was unexpected as Grace was not for sale, but the opportunity for her perfect life arose and we could not deny it to her. She is heading out of Mythic Friesians to a wonderful life as a broodmare, movie horse, and best of all, a companion to an 8 year old girl!
September 17, 2006 - Quantum MF has been sold! He is going to be living in Calgary, Alberta, and is now owned by Carrie Wagner. He will be a fantastic show horse and have the very best life any horse could ever want! We look forward to hearing how he does at his three year old keuring!
August 26, 2006 - There have been a number of website updates over the past few weeks. Femke and Shera's pages have been overhauled, and Undara's page has been updated. Also updated our For Sale page - we now have 3 adult horses for sale, as well as one of last year's colts, and three in utero foals for 2007. June 9, 2006 - Thomas MF is sold! He has been purchased by our good friend, Dani Vavri from Vancouver Island. Thomas will be living at Mythic Friesians until he is two, so the he can grow up as part of a herd, before going home to live with Dani. Congratulations Dani!
June 9, 2006 - It's confirmed; there is another mare coming to live at Mythic Friesians! We will soon be home to the lovely Olof daughter Emke W, owned by Danielle and Mike Black. Emke comes from stam 70 and is a full papered studbook mare. She should be arriving at our farm in July. Another excellent mare coming to us from Friesians 4 USA - thank you Rick and Ellen!
June 5, 2006 - Femke van de Brink and Grace are both confirmed pregnant! Both are bred to Rintse 386 for guaranteed fillies in 2007. Grace is due April 25th, and Femke is due April 23rd. Femke's filly is already sold to Tammy in Kitimat, BC.
May 29, 2006 - Renske Welmoed confirmed pregnant! She is bred to Rintse 386 for a guaranteed filly, due April 17th, 2007.

May 4, 2006 - Our last foal of the year has arrived! Ourenske H, our full papered stam 22 mare, gave birth to a beautiful Erik filly at 11 pm. As Ourenske is getting on in years, we will be keeping her filly as part of our herd. The filly's name is Undara MF.
May 3, 2006 - Website update. Updated the Our Mares page with new pictures for Star and Femke van de Brink.
April 23, 2006 - Our third foal of the year! This one is out of our 1/4 Percheron, 3/4 Thoroughbred mare Star. She was bred to Al Ibn Jamal, a purebred Arabian stallion. Around 9 pm, Star gave birth to a big bay colt! His owner has named him Thurayya. He is already turning grey, and showing off his daddy's gorgeous movement.

April 10, 2006 - To add to the night, Femke van de Brink decided to surprise us with her first foal - and our first filly! She gave birth to a dainty, darling little girl at 4 am. This filly is owned by Jesse Berg from Fox Island, WA, and her name is Tahiti MF.
April 9, 2006 - Our first foal of the year! Renske Welmoed foaled at 9:45 pm. She had a big, handsome colt, sired by Teade 392. His name is Thomas MF and he is for sale. For more information on Thomas, see the For Sale page.
March 24, 2006 - Othello headed off to his new home in Ulman, Missouri. We are sad to see him leave us, but he is going to a spectacular home. Keep your eyes open for this boy in the coming years, as he's going to be amazing!
March 11, 2006 - Femke van de Brink's in utero foal is sold. Congratulations to Jesse Berg! We expect this foal to arrive in the first week of April.

October 12, 2005 - Well now, it's been a while, hasn't it? Mythic Friesians has finally relocated all of the horses to our new location! Now located in beautiful, rainy Abbotsford BC, we are greatly enjoying having real fields, with real grass, on our own property. A lot has happened since our last update, so over the next few days, we will be doing massive updates to the entire page. Stay tuned for new information, new horses, and new pictures, plus a few new sale horses!
