Details on In Utero Foals

Ever year, we offer a few of our coming foals for sale in utero. For us, this means that long before the foal is born, we know that it will be going to a wonderful, loving home. We don't have to worry about marketing foals or scrambling to try to find homes for our foals as they get older. From day one, they each have their own special person to call their own.

It is also a great opportunity for buyers, as they get to know their foal from the very beginning. They can name their foal and get to experience every bit of the foal's growing up, either in person, if they live close enough to visit regularly, or through picture and video updates, phone calls and email. They can make all the decisions about how their foal is raised from birth until weaning, including when the foal is weaned and whether or not the foal is keured.

If a buyer is looking for a very specific mare/stallion combination, they also have the option of purchasing a foal before it is even conceived! They can choose the mare they would like to use, the stallion they would like to breed to, and even, to a limited extent, the time of year they would like to breed.

Lastly, it is a situation that greatly lends itself to payment plans, for the many people who are not able to come up with a large lump sum to buy a Friesian! The foal can be paid for in small or large payments over the mare's entire pregnancy, and up until the foal is 6 months old. Our payment plans on foals are entirely flexible and tailored to meet the needs of each individual buyer.

Planned In Utero Foals for 2013

Doaitsen 420 x Liskje fan e' Sjongedyk
 With the news that Liskje was going to be returning to us for a little while, we began to debate which stallion would be an appropriate choice for her. After a lot of debate, and then discussing it with the stallion owners, we selected Doaitsen. Doaitsen has a nice, strong back that he passes on to his offspring. As her back is Liskje's only real weak spot, this was a big factor in choosing a stallion. Doaitsen should improve on the back and still compliment Liskje's amazing movement and presence.
This foal will be for sale.

Doaitsen 420 x Undara MF
 This is a combination that we have been considering for Undara for a while. Doaitsen is a tall and modern stallion - not normally our cup of tea here at Mythic Friesians. However, Doaitsen has produced some nice older style offspring with outstanding movement when bred to heavier mares. We believe this will work well when bred to a heavy mare like our Undara.
We hope to have two foals from this matchup in 2013.

Lammert 260 Pref x Vokeltsje D
 This breeding has been planned since before we even owned Vokeltsje. Prior to her purchase, this breeding was planned for Renske Welmoed, our original Age line mare. Now, it is passed down to Vogue to produce our very first Age x Age breeding. There are almost no Friesians anywhere in the world with bloodlines as rare as that!
This foal will be kept by Mythic Friesians.

Lammert 260 x Ceridwen MF
 This foal will have very old, unique, and hard to find bloodlines. It will be Age line x Ritske line. Lammert's old style build coupled with his proven dressage ability should be a nice match for a tall, medium weight mare like Cera.
